Steubenville – NYC 2017

What is Steubenville?

Steubenville is an annual youth conference for High School teens throughout the country. There are multiple locations for these conferences, which give a wide variety of teens to hear different speakers, musicians, priests, and to meet people their age throughout the country. If you haven’t attended Steubenville in years past, imagine a huge retreat with live bands, beach balls flying around, and tons of fun.

This year we will be traveling to Queens, New York to attend this conference. Steubenville NYC will take place on the campus of St. John’s University in Queens, New York. Only minutes from Manhattan by car, bus or train, the 105-acre Queens campus offers a traditional university environment in the world’s most dynamic city. SJU’s Queens campus features broad lawns, handsome stone buildings, and ultra modern student residence halls. Combining urban excitement with suburban tranquility, the campus is located in a leafy, residential area of one of the five boroughs, or counties, that make up New York City. Meals will take place at dining halls on campus and housing will be in various dorms on campus which all are air coditioned.

The cost:

The cost of the conference is $270 per person plus the cost of transportation. We are working on arranging the transportation as a group, and will have that exact number out soon. That being said, this trip will cost no more than $300.00 per person. We will be doing a number of fundraisers to offset the cost of this trip. In years past, we have been able to significantly offset the cost of students.

If, for any reason, you are experiencing financial hardships, but would still like to attend the conference, please contact Jon in the Youth Ministry office. We can make arrangements for payment plans, and/or full and partial scholarships.

There is a $50.00/teen deposit due by January 17 in the parish office. Please download and complete the form below, and return it to the parish office by Tuesday, January 17.
