Parish Council - Role in Parish
Purpose: To share responsibility with the Pastor and Staff of the Parish for the mission of the Church.
Description: The Parish Council is a group of Christian leaders consisting of the
Staff and elected and appointed members. It assumes a visionary and coordinating role as it strives
to foster the Mission Statement of the parish. This umbrella group supports and enhances the total parish
ministry by encouraging the growth and development of all the parish ministries.
Requirements:
- Registered in the parish and at least 18 years of age.
- Interest in helping to make St. Isaac Jogues Parish a vibrant presence in the community.
- Ability to be a liaison with parish organizations in person and/or by phone.
- Ability to encourage and assist parish organizations in the achievement of their goals.
Time Commitment and Responsibilities:
- Attend the Parish Council meeting from 7 - 9 pm on the second Wednesday of the month, September through June.
- Attend the meetings of the organization(s) to which they are assigned.
- Make monthly contact with their assigned organization(s) to maintain communications and provide information and encouragement.
