Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

Adult Initiation: Adults wishing to become sacramental members of the Roman Catholic Church participate in the process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).

Those who are not baptized are initiated through Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil after a one to two year process of faith formation and conversion of heart. Those baptized in another Christian tradition are initiated through a Profession of Faith, Confirmation, and Eucharist after a suitable process of faith formation.

Through discussion, prayer, and rituals with the parish community, individuals are invited to discern the call to deepen their relationship with God and to become active members of our faith community. The process is flexible, depending on the person’s needs and Christian background.

The first step is to participate in the ‘no-obligation’ Inquiry Sessions that meet on Sunday mornings from 10 - 11 am in the Cronin Center. Inquirers are welcome at any time of the year.
